The annual meeting of the Ms. Women's Golf Association was held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday June 17, 2008 at Sunkist Country Club.

The meeting was called to order by Fran Ward, President with the opening prayer given by Judy Smith

Minutes--Two motions were made and seconded that the reading of the 2007 Summer Board meeting and 2008 Winter Board meeting be dispensed.  Both motions approved.

Treasurer's report--Georgia Day, Treasurer, distributed account balances sheets showing an overall total of bank accounts at $59,395.18.  This includes tournament entries for State Am and 4-ball.  No tournament expenses have been paid.  The  MWGA financial report showed dues income from 78 paid member of $3900.00.  Interest to date is $6.81.  The Magnolia scholarship fund bank account balance is $5186.71.  A certificate of deposit has a total of $10,291.69 with $291.69 interest earned in 2007.  Income to date for 2008 is $1001.37 with a total in the fund of $15,478.40.  The MWGA tournament fund shows a total of $15,478.40.  The MWGA MS team report included income for 2008 at $1,150.00.  The balance in the account is $4178.14.
Motion made and approved to accept the treasurer's report.

Old Business:

Magnolia Scholarship:

Lou Hart reported that two $1000.00 each scholarship have been awarded to Erica Peyton and Perry Furr for the 2008-09 school year
SWATCA:
The 2007 Ms. SWATCA team played in Florida and won the first prize with their skit.
2008 qualifying rounds will be held August 9 and 10 at Colonial Country Club.  Participants must be 21 years of age.  The fund raiser will be held again at Bay Pointe on September 13.
Ms. Sports Hall of Fame:
Lou Hart was inducted in the Ms. Sports Hall of Fame in July, 2007.  She and her father are the only father/daughter to be inducted.
There were no  Area Director reports except Pam Posey of East Central encouraging players to participate in tournaments at small clubs.  Several are  having to cancel tournaments due to lack of participation. 
Charlene Hughes stated Vicksburg is discussing a memorial tournament this Fall.  Details will be forthcoming.     
There were no committee reports.

Tournament Reports:
4-ball
-- Samye Johnson--32 entries have been received for the July 15 and 16 tournament at Dogwood course in Grenada.   
State Juniors--Lou Hart--20 juniors played at Patrick Farms last week.
Tri State Juniors--Lou Hart--Held in Hot Springs, Ark. with Ms. being the winning team. A plaque was given to Mary Langdon Gallagher in recognition of her participation. The winner of the Ms State Junior Tournament will go the Big I at Pinehurst
USGA -The Ms. USGA team consisting of Ashleigh Korsack, Cissye Gallagher and Virginia Grimes placed 8th out of 51 teams entered. This tournament is held every other year.
State Seniors--Lou Hart--Northwoods has rebuilt five tees and has done a lot of course improvement in preparation for the September event.
SWATCA--Will be held at Dancing Rabbit for 2008.  Forms were distributed by Jeanne Taylor requesting funds for ads in the Tournament Program.  These should be returned to Jeanne.

Northeast--Kay Simmons replacing Rachel Pate
Northwest--Patsy Hawks replacing Mary Troxler.  (Already served one year of  Troxler's term.)
East Central--Anne Payne replacing Lottie Vance
West Central--Lynn Harmount replacing Pam Bowman
Gulf coast--Carol Conover replacing Christel Fritzsching.
Motion was made and seconded to approve the nominees.  Motion passed.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned
