MWGA ANNUAL MEETING TUESDAY JUNE 9, 2009 GREENWOOD COUNTRY CLUB GREENWOOD, MS.
The annual meeting of the Ms. Women's Golf Association was at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 9, 2009 at the Greenwood Country Club.

Fran Ward, President, called the meeting to order and asked Judy Smith to open with prayer.
Reading of the Minutes A motion was made and seconded to dispense with the reading of the 2009 Winter board meeting minutes and the 2008 annual meeting. Motion passed.
Treasurer's Report Rachel Pate distributed copies of the MWGA accounts balance as of June 2009. Rachel indicated that no tournament expenses have been paid which accounts for the significant balances to date. It was moved and seconded the treasurer's report be approved as published. Motion passed.
Area Representative Reports East Central--Pam Posey--No report North East--Kay Simmons--No report Gulf Coast--Julie Landry reported that the 2009 State Seniors will be held at Diamondhead in September. West Central--Ann Payne and Lynn Harmount--No report North West--Patsy Hawks reported the 2009 State 4-Ball will be held at Back Acres in Senatobia July 7 and 8.
Committee Reports Seniors--Sissy Kern again stated 2009 State Seniors will be held at Diamondhead Newsletter--Sheila Haynes--Two issues will be sent per year with the next issue being mailed after the State Seniors. Information is also on website--MWGA.org SWATCA--Fran Ward reported our Ms. team won 2nd place in 2008 at Dancing Rabbit. 2009 play will be in Charlotte, North Carolina. Jeanne Taylor has resigned from the SWATCA board and a replacement is needed so Ms. can continue playing in the event. USGA Team--Team members, Virginia Grimes, Cissye Gallagher, and Alexis Rather will be representing Ms. at the 2009 event in Fort Wayne, Ind. on September 1, 2, and 3. Sheila Haynes is alternate captain. Juniors--The 2009 Jr. State Am will be held at Patrick Farms on Aug. 4 and 5. Ms. team won the tri-state tournament in Arkansas by earning 11 1/2 points.
2010 Tournament Bids State Am--Columbus Country Club submitted bid to host 2010 St. Am. June 13- 17. Moved and seconded that bid be accepted. Motion passed State 4-Ball--Canebrake Club submitted bid to host 2010 4-Ball July 25- 27 Moved and seconded that bid be accepted. Motion passed. State Srs.--The Oaks in Pass Christian and Clear Creek in Vicksburg submitted bids to host 2010 State Seniors. Representatives from both gave presentations on bids. A paper ballot vote declared the Oaks to be the host for 2010 Seniors.
Nominating Committee Fran Ward presented the following slate of officers for 2010: President--Samye Johnson President elect--Marilynne Burnside Secretary--Jane Massie Treasurer--Rachel Pate Area Reps: Gulf Coast--Deneice King replacing Julie Landry East Central--Celia Allen replacing Pam Posey West Central--Charlene Hughes for 2nd 2-year term North East--Judy Hosaflook for 2nd 2-year term North West--Gai Davis to serve another term It was moved and seconded that the slate of officers be approved. Motion passed.
